A Bite From Hell - A Photo Project.

In honor of my upcoming vampire romance series, I'm hosting a project that everyone can get involved in. The novel takes place in Hell, Michigan. To be exact, it's located right where the red dot is:

Now, hold out your left hand making sure the palm is facing down. The shape should resemble that of Michigan. Now try to match the red dot on the map to your hand, and there's where you'll create the vampire bite. The bite can be made from sharpie, paint, or you can use your imagination.

Take a photo of you and your vampire bite, and I'll feature it. Make sure your face is visible in the photo! It's much more interesting looking at a hundred pictures of different faces rather than just seeing differences in finger lengths.

Either once a week or once a month I'll be featuring the "best bite." You can upload the photo onto your Buzznet (but make sure to let me know) or you can add it to the group pool on the Flickr group.

Here is an example of Alcy from Buzznet:

Can't wait to see all of your photos! Please participate and make this fun. :)

I Wasn't Prepared.

It's been awhile since I've written a free-write. Here's one I just wrote - completely fictional:

I unfurled the sheets that lie stagnantly - stale, after last night's debauchery. The stillness of this particular morning had consumed me. Getting out of bed had meant to cross enemy lines.

I wasn't prepared. No.

Truth trickled down the side of my neck. These beads of sweat were more honest than the tears I had cried underneath the sheets.

I had not been prepared for the feeling of guilt that had washed over me. To watch movies all my life - vivid images, yet depcrepit as they grudgingly dragged on so sullenly across my mind.

Raw emotion was tearing away at me like vines that obscure my view. Yet, nirvana had seemed so close. To search, and long within me. Oh, not just long, but truly desire. I meddled in the affairs of mirages.

This was the silver lining. Here, perched up on one-too-many pillows, supporting the back of a traitor who did not deserve the comfort, the accommodations of a mattress.

Tomorrow I would settle for the floorboards. I'll make a pact with the puzzle pieces that insisted on reflecting upon my walls as dawn had attempted to greet me through the silhouette of my curtains. It wasn't getting a rise out of me today.

No, those white curtains were far too pure.

Upcoming Single News!

I know I've kept you guys waiting so long, but I think know it'll be worth the wait. I'll be going into the studio in the next two weeks or so to record my new single. As the time nears, I'll be able to provide an official release date. I'm not giving away any details just yet, but when the time comes, it'll satisfy your Sweet Tooth. Not that I'm hinting anything. Right?

P.S. Who has an amazon.com wish list? I had no idea you could create a wish list on there; it reminds me the times as a kid I'd go to Toys 'R Us and scan all the items I wanted for my Christmas wish list. I was always surprised they had enough receipt paper.

Go HERE to see my amazon wishlist. Make one and post yours!

Donuts.

Sorry for being M.I.A. these past couple weeks. I've just finally gotten over this health slump, and am back for my world takeover. ;)

In all seriousness, this past month has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. I entered the emergency room twice, had bed-rest for a week and a half, lost the money for my initial airline ticket, among other nuisances. I spent over four hours yesterday on the phone with the airline company to re-book a flight. My Michigan trip is back on for Wednesday, and so now I've got a bunch of last-minute packing to do.

I normally don't talk about my upcoming projects, but since it's been so long, I figured I'd let you in on something new. In the near future, I will be launching a radio station. I'll be Dj'ing along with the rest of the staff. I'll keep all the other information as a surprise, but I think you guys will really love it when it launches.

Speaking of launches, I want to thank all of you who have been so supportive of the launch of my forums. The forums just opened, and have already been extremely active. I thank you for making both myself, and the rest of the community there feel like an extended family. If you haven't already gone there and registered, we've always got room for more: click here for the link.

I'm in the mood to watch my old-school VHS tapes of my family and I as a little kid; I haven't seen them in years. Do any of you like to watch them, or do you get embarrassed?

P.S. Meet my current favorite accessory: donuts.

I know a lot of you have gone back to school for the year. Tell me how your first day was!

There is an advice column, you can meet friends, post photos, post journals, play games, and so much more. Join today and be a part of my mission for world domination, one post at a time. Lite Brite!

Do any of you remember Lite Brite? It was one of my favorite toys growing up. I found a site that has Lite Brite online, and you can create any picture you'd like. I tried creating a picture of myself, but I guess I don't have a promising career as a Lite Brite artist. Oops.

Create a picture of yourself or something you'd like & post the photo here. I'd love to see it.

P.S. I know a few of you wanted to know where I bought the hat in a few of my recent photos; it's now up for sale in my ebay store along with a few other items. Clint & I will be constantly putting items up for sale, so make sure to check back frequently.

Call the Doctor.

In a few minutes I'll be leaving to go to the emergency room due to my heart. This will be twice in E.R. in one month, though for different reasons. In the past few days I've been extremely ill and exhausted, but I hope to come back feeling better than ever. I should be lying down right now, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference either way. I can deal with needles and medication, but I have a completely different mindset regarding surgery. Let's hope it doesn't result in that. Anyhow, I hope you are all healthy, safe and sound. Hope to see you all soon, adorned with a new hospital bracelet and all.

I can has cheeseburger?

The Michigan trip is a little under two weeks away. How exciting! My friends and I are trying to find the trashiest & most entertaining restaurants to eat at. I'll be sure to post some videos!

Cracker Barrel is a must. How can you resist the gift shop?

Sonic, because they're got some of the best food, and are hard to come by unless you live in the south east.

Fudruckers, solely because of this photo. I I need to meet this man.

What are some of your favorite restaurants? Some of the worst or trashiest you've ever experienced?

Michigan trip!

I booked the plane ticket for my trip to Michigan! I'm ecstatic. I've only been living in LA for around a month or so, but it feels like it's already been years. I'm excited to see my friends and family there again. You never know what you have until it's gone, or in my case, a few thousand miles away. There'll be movie nights, shopping, eating at my favorite restaurants, photos, making videos, picnics, and scrapbooking.

I'm going to Cedar Point on the 27th, and my friend and I decided we're going to ride the Millenium Force for the first time. Have any of you been on it? I always chicken out.

I was recommended to read the Twilight series, so I bought the first two books at Borders last night and I'm going to start reading when I get back home tonight.

Hopefully i'll be able to fall asleep tonight so I'm rested up for the photo shoot tomorrow with Audrey & Clint. Insomnia and I have been good friends lately, so we'll see.

Hairroin Addiction.

Meet the cutest (and most stylish - what other dog do you know rocks a pink heart?) dog, Mimi. Janine from Hairroin Salon is giving her a little makeover. It makes me want to buy a puppy, name him smurf & dye him blue. The special dye doesn't harm the pets either, so it's the best of both worlds. What is your ideal breed of dog/cat you've always wanted, and what color would you dye them?

Speaking of dye and haircuts, I know a lot of you are always on the lookout for a salon that can turn a fantasy into reality. For years I went without finding a salon that was able to listen to me babble on about my crazy hair ideas, turn them into a reality, and be like an extended family all wrapped up in one. That was all until I stumbled across Hairroin Salon (www.hairroinsalon.com).

Luis Payne has been doing my hair, and shortly he'll be launching a website, so I'll make sure to update you guys when the launch arrives. You can walk in with photo ideas, or just tell them what ideas you have in mind, and they listen. Crazy, right? That's how it should be. It's worth making the trip, so definitely check them out and tell them I sent you. Make sure to share photos of your new 'do here so we can see!

Serpentine.

Free-write:
I called the ambulance
Emergency, incubators fueling
Me, $4.50 a gallon
Let's dance
Or see where this takes us
Melancholy music, headphones
Mishaps and dial tones
It always ends the same way
Leaving is terminology
Your biology, like deja vu
Pipes turning to rust
To trust, on empty
Efficiency

I need a cupcake cookbook for days like this when the small things can cheer me up. Sometimes when nobody is there to do them for you, you must resort to do them yourself. Sometimes you need to learn to befriend yourself. It's when you look in the mirror and see psychology in full bloom ladened with cupcakes and inuendos.

Who wants an ice cream cupcake? They look delicious. I think I might have to make a 2:00am grocery store run later.

The one who jumped over the moon.

Whew!

Yesterday I spent eight hours in the emergency room hooked up to IV's and medication due to being dehydrated and not being able to keep any liquids down at all. The nurses were all very pleasant, and they kept on complimenting me on being a gentleman and my hair. Even being weak they were able to keep me smiling.

I still can't eat whole foods yet because they put me on a strict diet plan for the next few days, but I really want some more vegan grilled cheese. So yummy.

Tomorrow I'm going to the beach to relax and detox from all the stress lately. I'll take lots of photos.

What is your favorite escape place?

Memory Tree.

New Freewrite:

I waited under the willow tree for what seemed to be months. It was but only a few moments, with slight exaggeration. You never showed. I could never put my finger as to why I cared; nothing between us had felt right. I put emphasis on every thing that hadn't mattered. Your stare settled in the core of my bones - when I was with you I felt at home, or the closet I've come to know of such a place. Here I was, hunched over and grazing in the very grass I've hated all along. These fields weren't friendly. I never let anyone in like this, but it's much too late for small talk. Conversation is the blood running through my veigns. You'll feast upon far more wonderful things; I'll end up mending my nonexistent wings and flee far away. It wasn't until today until I recognized who I was. I saw my face in the sky, translucent among the city lights - so far from what I've come to know. Oh, I'll stay rooted to that spot.

Merchants, synchronize.

New free-write:

Herding the animals on the rooftop of my penthouse apartment; quaint. Saint-like miracles oozing from the rocks from which I dwell underneath. "It" will be coming anytime now - the figment in your dreams - the rain in the sky. Sewage of which you cry. Judges shall recall on books so to antagonize, no, pry. Just lie. It's comforting when the ground from underneath you has traded spaces with the skyline above. It was a gloomy state until I saw the sun.

I felt myself being caressed by the very existence I had rejected. Pirate treasure and fools' gold, remaining too young to understand; jaded as it ferments. Co-exist, but solely to resist the chants haunting from every corridor, luring the dust within my windpipes to form serpentine patterns that plaster my membranes like heiroglyphics. It's physics.

Includes: iron-on patches, white out, duct-tape, elastic waistband, needle & thread, safety pins & a 32 page manual.

That's fine, but who owns white underwear? Give me some highliters & we're talking.

What do you think...buy new undies or repair them for fun?

Illinois!

Hi guys! I'm writing here from my hotel in Illinois. I drove 12+ hours yesterday and I'm doing the same today. It's been really beautiful.. I took some pictures on my phone from when I got lost in Chicago but they haven't been sent to my email yet. As much as I wanted to find a dumpy hotel they were all out of rooms. Since when does that happen? So close no cigar - it was even next to a McDonalds, ohwell. Anyway there are like 20 people walking around me now and I'm freaking out so I'm going to go. I'll keep you guys updated and I'm going to do some voice posts too so call my phone number 408-215-1015 .. you can subscribe to my posts and hear them

Help decorate my apartment!

I'm moving to L.A., and I'm going to need to decorate my new bedroom. I think it'd be really cool if you guys posted pictures of items you think would look good in the house. I love bright colors, unique items -- basically the "anti" white-picket-fence type of house. Hopefully my roommate won't mind!

Here are some really fun furniture items I found in Second Life while I was online:

I wish those were real! New life goal is to hunt those down..haha nothing like high standards.

What sorts of things in your house/apartment do you want but have never been able to find or afford? Post as pictures if you can. Make this fun!

P.S. Don't forget to call me & leave me a message. I already called a few people back -- I'll have a lot of time on the road to make phone calls so keep them coming. (408) 215-1015

Greasy Conversations.

That is currently being mailed to me. I'm in love.

Okay, so a few quick updates in my world. It's been so long since I've posted a journal on here. As many of you know, I recently launched my website (www.kaidenblake.com) which I have and will be posting on regularly. I urge you guys to check out those posts & give feedback when you can. I'm going to be re-vamping the entire website to make make it more interactive soon. I'll let you know when everything's complete.

Next is my stickam show. Every Wednesday at 5:00pm eastern time I'll be hosting a live show. It's going to be really fun, so make sure to tune in. On top of that, I'm going to throw in a surprise every week - so check out my stickam page. (www.stickam.com/kaidenblake)

Last but not least (and most exciting in my opinion) is my move to LA. I'm moving there within a month or two, and after I get settled I'll start announcing a ton of upcoming projects. I can't tell you all how excited I am...so please please bare with me and keep showing love until then. You guys are great for putting up with me. I may not always show it through comments, but you're all one of the biggest reasons I keep doing what I do - putting out art, in whichever form it's in.

So, with all of that mess said, I'm going to attempt sleep for the first time in four days.

P.S. I'll be in Audrey's stickam chat later today @ 5 by request...so come join!

May 21, 2008

My mind is set, and my head is a mess.

I disappeared again. Surprise surprise. Here's a new freewrite:

Who am I talking to, if you're not what they see? Tragically hip, resting at sea. Truth is he, say I, abandoned the ship. We may not swim upstream, not at all, but it's a hell of a trip. You are a mystery, for all to see, no, none at all today - but tomorrow, you can pray; see the sun, it's a ray, it's a flower in the sky, rectify the herb, put this shit in reverb. Mix it in the studio, singing the song I wrote, back in those days when we were writing our suicide note...think they would understand what we had planned? It's the dawn of a new day, the more words I use the less I say, because it's that simple, it's the truth to be told, the tarnished memories we sold, we cashed in and baby we've got gold. Gold. Now, don't forget that story we told. You see? We hear what we want to hear, we believe what we aimed to be. I guess, I know. I'm just my own worst enemy.

Kaiden.
